At Asbury & Co Farms, we believe our parent dogs deserve to be cherished family companions first and foremost.

Our Guardian Home Program allows us to thoughtfully grow our breeding program while giving each of our dogs the opportunity to enjoy a lifetime of love, individualized attention, and everyday family adventures.

Through this special partnership, carefully selected families welcome one of our exceptional puppies into their home at no purchase cost, while we retain breeding rights for a designated period of time.

Your dog lives with you, is loved by you, and remains your lifelong companion. Once their breeding career is complete, we cover their spay or neuter, and full ownership is transferred to your family.

Is Our Guardian Program Right for You?

We're intentional about selecting families who share our commitment to raising happy, healthy, well-mannered dogs.

Before applying, please make sure you:

  • Live within approximately 2 hours of Whitesburg, GA.

  • Own your home and have a physically fenced yard (exceptions considered).

  • Are prepared for the financial responsibilities of dog ownership, including food, grooming, routine veterinary care, and pet insurance.

  • Are willing to invest $1,500 in our required professional training program.

  • Can provide reliable transportation for breeding-related appointments.

  • Are comfortable caring for an intact dog and communicating regularly with us.

  • Understand that female dogs return to our care for approximately 7–9 weeks per litter, with a maximum of four litters.

Being a Guardian Family is a wonderful opportunity, but it's also a meaningful commitment. We value families who are dependable, communicative, and excited to partner with us.

Available for Placement: Sonnet Blue (Sonny)

Sonny is a 4 month old chocolate harlequin merle standard poodle female who will top out around 45 pounds as an adult. She’s currently 12 lbs and ALL legs! Her crystal blue eyes are a conversation starter everywhere we go. She is a sweet girl with medium energy, is SO smart, can sit, lay down, and is about 90% crate and potty trained. She’s fully vaccinated and ready for a family to take her home, and give her the love and attention she deserves!

    Approved Guardian Families welcome one of our prospective breeding dogs into their home at no upfront purchase cost. In exchange, Asbury & Co. Farms retains breeding rights for a designated period of time.

    Your dog lives with you as your family companion, while we coordinate and cover breeding-related care and expenses. Once their breeding career is complete, we cover their spay or neuter, and full ownership transfers to your family.

    This program is not intended for families interested in breeding dogs themselves, but for those who want to partner with us and provide one of our dogs with a lifetime of love.

  • We carefully select Guardian Families who are committed to providing a safe, loving, and dependable forever home.

    Our Guardian Families must:

    • Live locally: Within 2 hours of Whitesburg, GA for females or 1 hour for males.

    • Commit to training: Complete a board and train with our preferred trainer when puppy is 6 months old ($1500).

    • Provide a safe home: Dogs must live indoors and have access to a securely fenced yard or remain on-leash outdoors.

    • Maintain regular grooming: Commit to professional grooming every 6–8 weeks, along with routine coat maintenance at home.

    • Provide quality care: Feed a high-quality diet, provide proper socialization, and meet their dog's everyday physical and emotional needs.

    • Stay connected: Maintain open communication with us and provide monthly photos and updates.

  • Yes, there is no purchase price for the guardian dog. However, families are responsible for routine expenses, pet insurance, professional grooming, and our required training program ($1500).

  • Guardian families cover routine veterinary care and preventatives. Asbury & Co Farms covers breeding related health testing and veterinary expenses.

  • Females have a maximum of 4 litters, depending on their health and veterinary guidance. Males may participate in our program until no later than 7 years of age.

  • If a dog is determined unsuitable for breeding, the agreement provides for ownership to transfer after spaying or neutering. We discuss the specific arrangements with the Guardian Family
